Also, in respect to all of the many people impacted by Victoria's recent Bushfires here in Australia, of whom many of our staff have relatives and friends directly affected, we just want to express our sorrow at the devastation which has unfolded in front of our eyes over the past week. 

Our thoughts and prayers are with the many communities and towns now in recovery and who are not yet clear of further fire risk. We are certain in the spirit of our nation that these towns and its residents will be supported by all Australian’s, business and government, as well as our international friends, to assist in the recovery efforts and with the restoration of homes, services and dignity.  

Despite the natural, economic and human challenges that have dominated of late, we are working hard to ensure that this year’s 4th World Congress on Mental Health and Deafness in Brisbane is effective and accessible, as well as remaining focused on the long-term commitment needed to improve the lives, access and appropriate mental health services for deaf and hard of hearing people.  I hope you are able to join us and register now!
