Have you ever thought about 'deafness and well-being?'
Deafness and well-being is something that we need to talk more about and try to understand. As deaf individuals, it is important that we know how to look after ourselves and our own well-being.
Petra Svab, will be coming to your region to provide this workshop. There she will facilitate discussion and exercises on understanding feelings such as happiness, sadness or anger, sharing stories, coping strategies and where to find further information.
This workshop is aimed to stimulating discussion, listening to you and to provide information and helpful hints on keeping well. We will also invite feedback from you on well-being and learn more about how you cope with stressful situations.
This is a national consultation process which we will be doing across Australia. Petra will also be able to provide you with more information on an exciting event directly related to these workshops, the 4th World Congress on Deafness and Mental Health, 28-30 October in Brisbane. The congress is co-hosted by Deaf Children Australia and Deaf Services Queensland.
Tea / Coffee and Light Refreshments will be offered on the day. Auslan interpreter provided.
